Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and welcome at San Carlos de Bariloche´s
airport , from where soon after your landing, the Adventure begins, climb
in to our rafts and float along the Limay river, where we can fish for
trout and see all our local fauna, condors, eagles and guanacos (wild
lamas ).
Lunch will be on the river's beaches. Towards nightfall we will arrive
at a typical Patagonian style "Estancia"( Argentinean Ranch)
, where you will find all your traveling gear. And to conclude our first
day together, we will sit by a large fire and enjoy a "Gauchesque"
barbecue or better know as: "Asado".
Day 2: Breakfast on the "Estancia" followed by an incredible
trek, on which we will visit caves and see rupestrian paintings, done before
the Spanish conquest. Lunch will be served in a cave previously inhabited
by Indians . We then will climb to a mountain peak of 5000 feet in the
"Enchanted Valley", where we will find a petrified forest dating
millions of years.
By nightfall we will arrive in a charming village know as "Villa
la Angostura", where you will spend the night in a typical mountain
cabin after enjoying a choice of local dishes for dinner.
Day 3: Horses are saddled and ready to take you to the summit of
" Cerro O'Connor". On this excursion we will be guided by our
"Gaucho"(Argentinean Cowboy) guide: Alfredo, who will be with
us throughout the ride. He will prepare a "Patagonian asado"
for lunch. At dusk we will be back in our cabins for dinner.
Day 4: A moderate trek to the "Santa Ana" waterfall,
500 feet high, borne from a glacier and placed in the midst of a luxuriant
forest. It will leave us bewitched until our return to our cabins where
dinner awaits.
Day 5: Straight after breakfast, we begin a day full of mountain
a activities where we shall discover incredible sceneries, as we ride our
mountain bike. We will see paradisiacal waterfalls only accessed via the "Rappel"
technique. Lunch will be served at the summit of the "Cerro Inacayal"
from where you can see the immensity of the Andean Mountain range, ending
our day with dinner at our cabins.
Day 6: We will transfer to the "Espejo" Lake, where canoes
will be waiting for us to set off on an unforgettable canoe ride. We will
discover untouched beaches and deserted islands.
Lunch will be served upon one of these. We end our day with dinner back
at the cabins.
Day 7: Off for a trek into an extinct volcano known as "Cerro
Mirador" which divides Argentina from Chile. To reach here it is
required we go through Argentine Customs, the fun part here is our 20
KM. return to Villa la Angostura on our Mountain Bikes.
Day 8: Soon after breakfast, we will navigate by boat ( dissecting
the Nahuel Huapi Lake ) to the unique and famous orange bark "Arrayanes"
forest. Here we will enjoy our last lunch together. On returning to our cabins,
we collect your suitcases for our return to San Carlos de Bariloche airport where we will bid
you farewell, bôn voyage and look forward to seeing you again, soon.
